The Angel’s Song

March 6, 2014

angel girl

In the deepest depths
Of an angel’s mind
There is a song
That none may find.

It’s a sad song
Full of love and peace
But in the end
Only insanity does it increase.

A song of nonsense
With strange advice
And often comes
With a large price.

It’s sung from the heart
In only a single breath
And is only exposed
At the angel’s death.

When the angel’s wings are clipped,
The song escapes its mind
And though the tone is gently set,
It keeps your soul from being left behind.

So when the sound
Caresses your ear,
You’ll suddenly go cold
For you know the end is near.

I really like this poem-but could someone explain its true meaning? I’d really like to know!

There is no true meaning. Better yet, I believe that there is no wrong interpretation for it. It’s an old poem, one that has always reminded me of pain and hope standing together when you lose someone you love. But that’s just me. I’m truly happy that you like it and I hope that you’ll enjoy other posts on eLitere as well.
