As the day takes off the heated crown,
So does the leaf change its skin
As do all of its kin.
As the clouds split open,
The rivers again swell…
Autumn rain water falling down.
The day’s no longer bright,
The tugging ball of flame is no longer gazing,
Its lava sight no longer scarring…
Autumn rain water falling down.
The night ablaze with thunder and lightning,
Rooftops and windows singing,
We welcome it!
Offer our gratitude to it!
Autumn rain water falling down.
Ideas burn bright,
Dreams come to life and take flight
As butterflies and bees to flowers in bloom,
With the dragon’s fiery breath no longer a presence…
they all swoon;
Autumn rain water falling down.
